Medium-Light Roast Coffee
The bridge between bright origin flavors and developed roast character. Balanced, nuanced, and approachable.
What is Medium-Light Roast?
Medium-light roast coffee is roasted to an internal temperature of 401-410°F (205-210°C), typically ending just after the first crack but before the beans develop any surface oil.
This roast level bridges the gap between light and medium roasts, offering the best of both worlds: origin characteristics are still prominent, but with a more developed sweetness and slightly reduced acidity.
Common names include: City Roast and sometimes Light Medium. Many specialty coffee roasters favor this range for single-origin offerings.
